Meet the Team: Gail Solomon, Talent Acquisition Manager
Our Meet the Team blog series highlights the amazing people behind Moixa. A big thank you to Gail, our Talent Acquisition Manager, who sat down with us to talk about her role and Moixa’s exciting hiring plans for 2022.
Meet the Team: Gail Solomon, Talent Acquisition Manager
Gail has been working for Moixa for six months as a Talent Acquisition Manager. Her role focuses on attracting the right talent for the company and ensuring the recruitment strategies are aligned with Moixa’s objectives. In the last six months, she played an important role in helping grow the team by 20 talented individuals spread across our offices in London and Manchester.
Before joining Moixa, Gail already had solid experience in recruitment, having worked in the automotive engineering sector for a German-based company called RLE International.
Gail holds an M.A degree in Economics, and she is currently pursuing a CIPD qualification in HR Management.
How did you first hear about Moixa?
I first heard about Moixa through LinkedIn. I was looking for a new job to progress my career and came across the talent acquisition role at Moixa on LinkedIn.
What made you want to take the job?
Working for a company that supports the move away from fossil fuels to build a greener future was an exciting prospect. I was also intrigued to see how Moixa focuses on building the best technology to add intelligence to global energy storage and provide value to businesses and individuals.
What elements of Moixa and our business are you most passionate about?
I am most passionate about the people I work with at Moixa. We are a fantastic bunch of individuals who work collaboratively to bring great ideas into reality. I learn something new from my colleagues every day, which keeps me motivated.
Moreover, the mental and physical wellbeing of the team is Moixa’s priority. Many of the company’s initiatives and policies are co-created with people’s happiness in mind, including the hybrid working model – with voluntary office attendance – and great flexibility when deciding your own work patterns.
I am also incredibly proud of our software offering, GridShare, and how it uses AI to optimise batteries’ behaviour in order to save on customers’ energy bills and minimise their carbon footprint.
What happens on a typical workday for you?
I usually start my morning by making a list of “things to do” for the day and then have a meeting with the People team. If I am recruiting for a role, I would most probably have 2-3 candidate interviews scheduled.
Other activities include meetings with Hiring managers to discuss new roles, sourcing candidates, advertising jobs on different portals and working on effective recruitment strategies. I am also involved in various exciting People related projects from time to time.
Are you currently working on any interesting projects?
Moixa is currently going through a period of growth, and we will be hiring a lot of new employees this year. I am very excited to lead the recruitment strategy for the company and work closely with the internal hiring managers to achieve this goal.
(You can check out all our open positions on Moixa’s Careers page).
What has been your highest point since joining Moixa?
The highest point for me would have to be when I won the ‘Moixans of the Quarter’ award (a quarterly company survey where we reward and celebrate those at Moixa who demonstrate our values in the way they work) after completing the first quarter at the company. That was a big surprise for me, and it inspired me to do my best at Moixa.
Congratulations on winning our ‘Moixans of the Quarter’. Your passion and hard work paid off!
What steps are you individually making towards a cleaner future?
I always carry a cotton or jute bag in my handbag; this stops me from buying a single-use plastic bag if I spontaneously decide to buy something when I am out.
I donate or re-sell most items that I don’t use and try not to buy more than what I need. I am also a big fan of charity shops and have shopped there since my time in university.
I am also conscious about the brands I choose, it is important that they align with my green aspirations.

What motivates you?
Working with intelligent and passionate people in a company that is trying to make a positive impact in the world.
What is the one thing we should know about you that isn’t on your CV or LinkedIn Profile?
I enjoy travelling and meeting people from different cultures. I am very curious and enjoy trying different cuisines.
What is one great piece of career advice you have been given?
Lean In.
What are your top tips for someone who wants to work at Moixa or in the renewable energy industry?
Be authentic and passionate about the work that you do. Having a good sense of humour also helps.
A huge thank you to Gail for taking the time out to discuss her life at Moixa.
