Solar & Storage, the sustainable way to power your home

WHY INSTALL SOLAR PANELS?

Sustainable solar energy to power your home

Installing solar panels is a great way to reduce your home’s carbon footprint, support the UK’s net-zero energy goals and lower your electricity bills. Solar PV panels, known as photovoltaics (PV), take in the sun’s energy and convert it into electricity for your home.

The solar panels will generate electricity for your home during daylight hours, but if you don’t use that energy as it is generated it is sent to the grid. Then when the sun goes down and solar panels stop generating electricity, you will once again rely on the grid to purchase energy, often at a much higher price than you were paid for the energy you exported.

WHY ADD ENERGY STORAGE?

Storing your self-generated solar energy

To make the best use of your solar energy, at Moixa, we advise every solar panel owner to also install a smart solar battery.

By adding a battery to your solar panel installation, you can store the excess energy you generate instead of sending it back to the grid, so you can use solar energy to power your home both day and night. With smart energy storage, you can also store low-cost grid energy when you have a time-of-use tariff so you can power your home not only from solar energy but also the lowest-cost energy available.

HARNESS THE SUN'S ENERGY

Save money whilst saving the planet

The amount of energy solar panels can generate for your home depends on the number of panels you install, the type of panels, where they are installed and how much sunlight they receive as well as the weather. In general, a 3kWp or 4kWp solar panel system will be able to produce enough electricity to meet a considerable proportion of the energy needs of an average UK family home.

Since every home is different, we invite you to talk to our friendly team of Solar Storage Specialists about your specific energy requirements. We’ll help you work out the best type of panels and how many to suit your home, along with the right size battery, to allow you to maximise your renewable energy usage.

THE MOIXA DASHBOARD & APP

View your predicted energy generation

The Moixa Dashboard and app gives you access to your home energy generation and usage data.

  • View your predicted solar generation based on local weather forecasts
  • View how much energy the battery predicts you will use based on your recent habits
  • See how much energy your solar panels are generating and how much energy is being stored in your battery.

The cost of your solar panels will largely be determined by the number of panels required to fit your home’s solar energy needs. If you contact our team today, we’ll be able to tell you more about our options and find the right solution to maximise your savings.

Our team is highly skilled and experienced in helping our clients to find the ideal solar panel installation for their home, as well as finding the most suitable solar battery capacity to ensure that your solar battery system is perfectly matched to your energy needs.

For example, one of our more popular systems would be priced as follows:

4kWp solar system + 4.8kWh Moixa Smart Battery = £8,270 (inc. VAT & standard installation)

The life expectancy of a PV panel is 25-30 years, though there will be some degradation over time resulting in a decrease in energy output.

Moixa offers tier-one rated panels which come with a 25-year ‘power output warranty’. This typically guarantees they’ll still be producing at least 80% of their initial rated peak output after 25 years. So, the output is expected to decrease by an average of less than 1% per year.

For customers who purchase solar panels alongside a solar battery, we see them make average savings of up to 50%* on their annual energy bills.

In addition to the financial savings offered by your solar panels and solar battery and their contribution towards your home’s energy usage, there are also various environmental benefits of powering much of your home’s energy needs with clean, renewable energy.

The solar energy you generate through your solar panels and store in your solar battery can make a significant contribution towards powering your home and greatly reduce your annual energy bills.

In terms of the ideal number of solar panels for your home, it will depend on your home energy profile and the available space on your roof.

Our most popular installation features 12 panels, which is around 4kWp of solar, but we can discuss our range of options and find the best choice to maximise your savings.

There are certain things that you could add to make your solar system more aesthetic or increase its performance – for example, in-roof panels, panel optimisers, pigeon proofing etc.

Speak to our Solar Storage Specialists to discuss your options on these extras.
